Frequently Asked Questions

A clinical psychologist helps individuals understand and manage emotional, psychological, and behavioral issues. This may involve assessments, psychotherapy, and evidence-based treatment plans tailored to your needs.

I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, burnout, and more. I also offer support for existential and spiritual dilemmas, and mid-life transitions.

I also work with parents who are separating or divorced, helping them build healthy co-parenting relationships in their child’s best interest, as well as other systems or organisations that need assistance with navigating change or conflict.

Yes, I work with all three. Some people come on their own for support and reflection. Others come as a couple or a family to work on communication, parenting, or conflict resolution.

Not necessarily. Mediation is often a first step before involving lawyers. It can be a more collaborative and child-focused way of resolving parenting issues. However, I can also work as part of a collaborative team that includes attorneys, where helpful.

Yes. Whether in therapy or mediation, your privacy is deeply respected. There are a few exceptions where I am legally or ethically required to act—these will be explained clearly in our first meeting.

The first session is a chance to get to know each other. We will talk about what’s bringing you in, and what you’re hoping for. You’re welcome to ask any questions, and there is no pressure to decide everything right away.

Sessions are usually 50–60 minutes. How often we meet depends on your needs. Most people start off on a weekly basis and overtime, may reduce their sessions to every 2nd week. In mediation, we usually plan for a series of sessions over a few weeks or months, depending on the complexity of your matter.

We will discuss what will work best for you.

My fees vary depending on the service (therapy, mediation, child-inclusive work). Please feel free to contact me directly for details. I work on a private-pay basis. If you’re with a medical aid, you may be able to claim back from your medical aid depending on your specific plan. You may check this out with your medical aid provider.

If you need to cancel, I ask that you give at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled with less notice may be charged the full fee.

You can reach out via phone, email, or the contact form on this website. I’ll get back to you personally, and we can explore whether I’m the right fit, or connect you with someone else who might be.
